Association of Bridal Consultants

I am excited to announce that I have completed all of my coursework to upgrade to a higher designation with my professional association, Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC). In case you're wondering what courses a wedding planner would need to take, here's the overview....

Weddings As A Business, a comprehensive course on the business side of things
Etiquette
Sales & Marketing
Planning & Consulting
Wedding Day
Related Services

Each of these courses was completed with a test. The courses are always fun and interesting, as they throw in interesting facts about weddings. I've had the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of weddings based on tradition, culture, religion, and many other things.

When you work with an ABC member, like myself, you can count on them to abide by a Code of Ethics. Our Code includes:

~Representing each client fairly & honestly, providing all agreed-to services in a timely and cost-efficient manner
~Establishing reasonable and proper fees for services and provide written estimates to each client
~Using honest, factual advertising
~Dealing with employees fairly, in an unbiased manner
~Operating a business that is a credit to the Association and the community
~Disclosing to clients any payments received from suppliers.

Using an ABC Member is the best way to a wonderful wedding day!

Til Death Do Us Part...a Murder Mystery!

Earlier this year I had the fun opportunity to work with a very close client (Mom & Dad!) in planning a truly unique Valentine's Day event for their friends. We hosted "Til Death Do Us Part", a wedding themed murder mystery party. We planned the event to resemble a wedding reception as closely as possible, complete with the bride & groom, wedding cake, and favors!

We didn't know how it would fly with their crowd, but boy did they go all out! Take a look at our wonderful photos by Chelsea Sloneker, a new local photographer, and see if you can solve the mystery! Call us today to plan your murder mystery party. Themes range from western, to wedding, class reunion to Margaritaville, and just about anything else you could imagine!

The hosts, and parents of the bride, Tony & Marianna Giovanni...

The bride & groom, Becky Giovanni & Stanley Simpson, arrive at the reception...

The cake...made by Alexis Hurdle!

baby on board!

I am so excited to announce the first J.Bailey Occasions baby is on board! My warmest wishes go out to Nathan & Josey Wagner, married just 7 months ago on August 25, 2007! Nate & Josey heard Baby Wagner's heartbeat for the first time today. Bo & Blitz, their beloved pups, are going to have to move aside in a November when the blessing arrives.

CONGRATULATIONS JOSEY & NATE!

Unique Wedding Finds

Some fun ways to spice up the wedding in unexpected places...

Ring Pillows...Use these as a POP of color!

Personalize Your Stamps

You've addressed the envelopes...you've stuffed them...and you go to the post office. The next news you find could break your heart after all of the work you put into designing the perfect preview to your wedding.

"That will be 50 cents, and the only stamp we have to offer you is one with a WWE wrestler." WHAT!?

Yes, sometimes the post office can fit your needs, but usually it isn't just what you want. So, check out Zazzle! You can design your own stamps, choose a pre-made stamp, or even put your favorite photo on them. Give the outside of your invitations the same amount of love you gave in designing them.

Projects in the Works

Hi everyone!

I apologize for the lag in my blogging! I've been so incredibly blessed to be so busy as my wedding season is about to kick off! I promise I will try to do better. Things you have to look forward to:

1. BRIDES FOR THE CURE! Don't forget to register online by March 21st, which is next Friday. We have really incredible prizes, and even more importantly, we're all going to have a great time together! Call or email if you have any questions. Dale, Amy, and I have been working really hard on this fun, exciting project and want you to be a part of its success!

2. LAUREN & STUART'S WEDDING: I cannot wait to see this gorgeous April wedding come to life! There has been a lot of love poured into this special day, and I know you'll be able to tell when you see the fun details!

3. LAUREN & DUSTY'S WEDDING: This May wedding is going to be a classic! Lauren, the bride, has an impeccable taste for timeless elements twisted with a touch of modern taste. We have been able to put our creative talents to work, and I can't wait for everyone to see some great ideas on personalizing your wedding. (And for Dusty to see Lauren in the most amazing wedding gown!) Oh, and I get to spend the day with Dale and Meredith, too!

4. ABBY & CHRIS' WEDDING: My last wedding in the spring season, this couple likes to have a lot of fun. Get ready to see a new concept in decor, and lots of fun, bright colors. The style of the wedding matches this Texas couple so well! And, Mom is the next Martha Stewart, I'm convinced. A lot of thought has gone into bringing special touches for the groom to this wedding, which we don't see all too often. This may be a fun feature blog story after the wedding.

So, now you can see why I haven't been blogging much...and these are just my spring weddings! Add my summer and fall weddings into the mix and you'll have a taste of the fun I am having working with each bride.

I have exciting news coming soon to post...can you say STAFF?? That's right! Get ready to meet the new faces of J.Bailey Occasions later this month!

Keep on calling and keep on reading! And, don't forget to register for Brides for the Cure!
